I spent the day setting up the darkroom in our laundry room. Each student is expected to print 5-10 analog (film)
prints prior to arriving in New York. This will allow the department chair to gauge our level of technical proficiency.
Luckily, I worked with film prior to switching to digital in 2002. And luckily I purchased D-76 during a recent trip to
Vancouver. D-76 is hard to find in Yellowknife because Transport Canada classifies the powder as a dangerous
good. Today I focused on self-portraits and the enlarger. Tomorrow I hope to "soup" film and print a contact sheet,
right after dog duties.
